Perfect compliments to »Peltor Radio Single Comm PTT Adaptor
I bought the FL-5601-02 AN/PRC 148 MBITR and AN/PRC 150, 152 Falcon Series, PRC117, PRC 119 SINCGARS for use on my body armor in Afghanistan.
With the Peltor headset, I am able to remote my radio to my side/back and distribute the load on my vest. The whole assembly is a little oversized but it is definitely rugged. Notably, where the wires meet the connectors, a wire “spring” or heavy duty support is in place to minimize damage caused by pulling on the cable. The cable it ‘self when routed from my chest, over my shoulder, down my back and on my side will reach the radio barley when it is my 3’oclock position. The button is large and has a positive feel to it (you know when the button is depressed). The button also has a protective guard around it to prevent accidentally depressing the PTT button which you can take off. The clip in the back will fit perfectly into a MOLLE vest strap and will positively retain. The clip will also rotate and hold at what appears to be 45 degree angles.
The price is steep. I had to buy two for my work and it hurt. But this is the best PTT on the market so far that I have seen and when it comes to flexibility, $250 is well worth it especially if it is going to last.
I would recommend this to a friend and have.
